Telephone Systems

Telephone System Market ShareThe chart to the right shows the latest market share data1  for the 8 - 200 port2 telephone system market.

Over the past several years both Avaya and Nortel have lost market share -  due in part to the weakening economy and an attempt to refocus their efforts to other market segments such as data and networking.  During that same time frame, much of the market share lost by Avaya and Nortel has been captured by Inter-Tel, who now holds the number 1 position.  Although losing market share, Nortel has managed to hold on to 2nd position while Avaya dropped from 1st to 3rd.  Panasonic has managed to hold its share and is tied at position 3 with Avaya.

In the larger 200 - 400 port market, Avaya still holds the number 1 position at 28%.  Inter-Tel has taken over the number 2 position, with just over 19%, and Nortel has dropped to position 3 with approximately 15% market share.

Although market share does not always guarantee superior product capabilities and customer satisfaction, it is however, a strong indicator.  That's why COMPTEL's selection of new and refurbished advanced telephone system solutions including Comdial, Inter-Tel, Avaya, Nortel, Panasonic, and others, will improve your ability to communicate more professionally and efficiently.
